Four things all children (and grown-ups) need to know about feelings
When working to support children’s emotional regulation, it's essential that we consider what we want to communicate to children about feelings. In this mini course, we present four key ideas that are useful for children (and grown-ups) to understand about emotions. Drawing on the latest clinical theories and research we provide some background around each of these ideas. We share practical ideas for how you can communicate these concepts in your therapeutic approach and the way in which you can support the child’s family and teachers to understand these ideas. The course provides 1.5 hours of professional development and includes five creative activities for helping children to understand these concepts.
